It has been awhile since I have been able to make a post, but it is really nice to have a few extra minutes out of my day to sit down and getaway into SL.  The cold weather always brings my favorite time of the year the holidays.  Yes I am one of those people who shops early for gifts, plays holiday music all day, fill my home with holiday scents and decorates in time for Thanksgiving.  So why not in SL?  Well my bf and I are not that quite organized in SL but slowly we are sorting out the sim in time for a warm and cozy holiday dinner with close friends to sip eggnog and hot apple cider in front of our warm fireplace.

This year I am starting a new holiday tradition with my friends in SL.  Yeah we can do the traditional holiday dinners in SL and gift exchange, but why not get creative with ideas to spend quality time with those that make your SL one of a kind. This year I have decided to invite my friends over a few days throughout the month to have an all out blast to decorate gift boxes, snowmen, ornaments, gingerbread men/women etc. It does take time to setup create and/or buy the items you need, so make sure to plan it out well.  (*Just a side note make sure to check the permission of items when purchasing to make sure they allow you to share them. )  Once you have all your supplies, arrange them in order and set them to buy at 0L.  It is a really good idea to set out an example you have created so your friends can have ideas while assembling together their very own project.  Make sure you have a variety of items, for example, for a snowman create a cone nose, twisty nose, twig from a branch nose and so on then everyone can choose from several different pieces to make their very own creative one of a kind snowman.  Why not set your sim/parcel radio to holiday music when everyone is there to share the holiday spirit. Even if it is a bit artsy/crafty/Martha Stewarty you get an opportunity to spend time with your very special friends.

If you have further ideas you want to share, leave me a comment I would love to read what is on your mind!

Today I chose to wear something too keep me warm in these freezing cold temperatures.  There is nothing more classic and warm than a heavy wool coat, tights and boots.

Whether you are hanging out with the girls, taking care of the long list of errands or spending time with your special cutie at the park this is a perfect outfit.  Not only is it functional it is stylish with a mix of textures and colors that compliment one another.  Although it is still summer, quickly approaching is autumn which leaves a cool breeze in the air in the evening.  The 3/4 sleeve sweater gives just enough warmth along with the leggings. The boots and wrapped beads add a finishing pizzazz to this funky chic look. So what am I wearing? See the style notes below. coche 2coche sim clothes

I was hopping around today participating in grabbing excellent 50L Friday deals and popped into Tyranny.  Instantly I was in shopping heaven.  50L Friday is a great way to find stores you have not already discovered.  There have been several stores I have been quite amazed at the creativity of the designs.  I am totally in love with 50L Fridays.

Tyranny reminds me a bit of raiding your mom’s closet or shopping at a vintage shop.  The vintage look is super cute because you can combine so many styles together and it will look funky chic.  This outfit totally screams I’ve just picked up a few groceries at Trader Joe’s and I am headed to Powell’s to find a great book to read.

What a fabulous little number from Plastik.  The all around party girl dress and it comes and a variety of cool colors.  The barbwire look around the waist is just smexylicious!  A great dress made for a hot night out dancing.

I have to give Maitreya a huge applause for making smokin’ hot shoes with a very easy to use color matching hud.  I even noticed little freckles and textures on the foot which makes it very natural looking. On top of all that the shoes are at a fair price and I plan on buying many pairs of these delicious shoes.  Go Maitreya!! Finally high style on a moderate budget!

Yes, I said it.  Priceless!  I didn’t hesitate for a moment to spend my Lindens on these new releases from Maitreya, from the new collection Maitreya Gold.  These are the first Maitreya shoes with sculpted feet and toes, and they are exquisite.

Maitreya 1

As with all Maitreya shoes, these are heartbreakingly beautiful and well made.  But UN-like most sculpty toes out there, the HUD skin matching system is PAIN-FREE.  As in, not a pain in the butt, not a headache, none of that.  I am always a little saddened by sculpty foot shoes, no matter how lovely they are, because I just know they will require at least a half hour of adjustment, looking at the skin tone in various lights, trying to get the right mix of pinkish and brownish and yellowish… and heaven forbid I try to wear them again with a different skin– the whole process starts over. *sigh*  The price of fashion, right?

Not anymore!  Maitreya turns that system on its head.  Inside this HUD is the exact recipe for dozens of skin tones, listed by designer and tone.  In these pics, I am wearing LAQ Jessica in the Peach tone.  All I needed to do in order to match my feet was check the attached notecard, find “LAQ Peach”, input 3 numbers into the HUD, and voila– a perfect match!

SQUEEE!!!

So the skin is easy, and the shoes themselves are absolutely gorgeous… I am only sad that there are only 3 styles available so far!  🙂  I will most definitely be smiling about these stunning sculpties for a loooong time to come.  Thanks, Maitreya!!

A look of the day, all inspired by a trip to Pink Fuel.

more sprinkles please

Yes, I am in love with a donut.  I’m not sure how my husband will take it.  I suspect he will suggest a threesome.  Hmmm.

Back to the post: this donut rocks!  And if donuts are not your thing, Pink Fuel has pop tarts, lolipops, teddy bear backpacks… lots of cool stuff to make you feel like a kid again.  When I saw this donut, I knew what I wanted my donut dress to be– a fantastic, sweet creation from couverture, a little store I wandered into a couple of days ago.  I bought about 5 dresses in less than a minute.  This place was a real find for me, and I feel like I have a treasure of sweet, girly, edgy-if-you-wanna-be dresses waiting in the wings.  Yayyyy! *much rejoicing*

caught

The donut seemed to summon something else out of my folders… a hair I haven’t worn since I bought it, and now that I put it on, I have no idea why not!  It is a style from Hair Fair, from a designer I didn’t know until that day– Find Ash.  I love the messy, one sided bun with the section pulled to the front.  Totally random and endearing.

So… that’s it.  I can’t talk too much, have to finish my donut before my husband gets home.  I have decided– I don’t want to share.  🙂

(If you want to get your own donut love, or anything else I’ve been rambling about… here you go–)

Skin: Nylon Outfitters, light teeth gap plain
Dress: couverture, spur in pearl grey
Hair: Find Ash, Innocent phase in natural orange
Necklace: ICoN, BM Necklace in brown
Shoes: boing fromage, urban moccasins
Donut: Pink Fuel, Happy Donut
Tights: Opium, Everyday 1L Tights in yellow brown
